Privacy
In short: no cookies and no ads. Visits are counted by Cloudflare’s anonymous cookie-free statistics, and downloads by a counter that stores no IP addresses. Zone Mod Studio sends nothing without your consent, and you can delete what it sent at any time.

This website
The site runs on Cloudflare (Pages and Workers). Like any web server, Cloudflare receives your IP address and browser details to deliver the pages; we do not keep them.
Visit statistics come from Cloudflare Web Analytics. It uses no cookies and no local storage, and Cloudflare says it does not collect visitors’ personal data. We see only totals: page views, pages, referring sites, countries, browsers and page speed.
The fonts come from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when your browser loads them.
Your browser keeps only your language and theme choice in localStorage (zms-lang, zms-theme).
The download counter
When you click Download, the request passes our counter and goes on to the file. We add one to the day’s count for that version. So that repeated clicks are not counted, the counter keeps only a one-way, randomly salted hash of your IP address in memory for up to 30 minutes; neither the address nor the hash is written to the database.
The site shows the total number of downloads. The numbers are anonymous.
App statistics, only with your consent
Zone Mod Studio 0.2.3 and earlier send nothing at all. Starting with 0.2.4, Studio asks once whether you want to send app statistics. Nothing is sent until you say yes; if you say no, it does not ask again.
If you agree, while the program is open it sends a short message after start and then about every 5 minutes. Settings → Statistics → “What is sent” shows the exact message.
These statistics are not anonymous but pseudonymous: all messages of one install are linked by a random number, although no name or IP address is stored with it. So we treat them as personal data, and all the rights below apply. Only the daily totals and the numbers on this site are anonymous.
What is sent:
- Install number
- a random pseudonymous install number your PC makes when you agree, for example
3f2c8a9e-1b4d-4c6e-9f10-2a3b4c5d6e7f; we store only a one-way hash of it - Studio version
- for example
0.2.4 - Game build key
- 16 characters describing the game version, edition and DLC, for example
a1b2c3d4e5f60718; it is the same for everyone with the same official game files and does not depend on your mods - Interface language
ukoren- Windows
10or11- Events
- how many mods you built and installed since the previous accepted message, at most 20 of each kind, for example
build: 1, install: 0
{
"v": 1,
"id": "3f2c8a9e-1b4d-4c6e-9f10-2a3b4c5d6e7f",
"app": "0.2.4",
"game": "a1b2c3d4e5f60718",
"lang": "en",
"win": "11",
"ev": {
"build": 1,
"install": 0
}
}Never sent: your name or Windows user name, folder and file paths, game numbers, mod names or contents, the change history or check answers. Your IP address is used only in memory, as a one-way hash, to stop floods and is not stored.
Why
- to know how many people use Studio and which versions are still in use;
- to know which game versions, editions and stores to test first;
- to show the totals on this site: who is in Studio now, mods built this week, downloads.
We do not sell or share the data, show ads or build profiles.
Legal basis
App statistics: your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time; this does not affect the lawfulness of the processing before the withdrawal.
Site statistics, the download counter and abuse protection: our legitimate interest in knowing how the site and the program are used and in protecting the service (Article 6(1)(f)). All of it works without cookies and does not identify you.
Google Fonts: our legitimate interest in showing the site with the same fonts in every browser (Article 6(1)(f)). You can object: write to us, or block fonts.googleapis.com in your browser and the site uses your system fonts.
How long we keep it
- Records of an install are deleted automatically 90 days after its last message. A clean-up job runs twice a day.
- Daily totals without any install number (new installs, mods built and installed, active installs per day, downloads per version) are kept to show the history.
- Randomly salted hashes of IP addresses live only in the server’s memory, for at most an hour (up to 30 minutes for the download counter), and are never written down.
- Cloudflare keeps Web Analytics data under its own rules.
Turn it off and delete your data
- Settings → Statistics: turn sending off at any time. Nothing is sent after that.
- “Delete my data” in the same place deletes everything stored under your install number right away and turns sending off.
- Without the program: write to us (contact below) with your install number from “What is sent”, and we delete it by hand.
Stored under an install number: the hash of the number, the first and last day, the time of the last message, the Studio version, the 16-character game build key, the language, Windows, message counters and the days the install was active. The numbers of mods built and installed go only into daily totals without the number.
If the install number is lost (for example, you deleted Studio’s settings), we cannot find your records: they are not linked to a name or an address. They then delete themselves 90 days after the last message.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- know what we store and get a copy in a machine-readable format (Articles 15 and 20);
- have inaccurate data corrected (Article 16);
- have the data deleted (Article 17) and its processing restricted (Article 18);
- object to processing based on legitimate interest (Article 21);
- withdraw your consent to the app statistics at any time (Article 7(3)); this does not affect the lawfulness of the processing before the withdrawal.
The quickest way is the buttons in Settings → Statistics. For anything else, write to the contact below and include your install number from “What is sent”: without it we cannot find your records. We answer within one month.
You can also lodge a complaint with the data protection supervisory authority in the EU or EEA country where you live or work, or where you think the infringement took place. In Ukraine this is the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights.
